African Immigrant Leadership Forum (AILEF)

The African Immigrant Leadership Forum (AILEF) is a network of African immigrant leaders & institutions working together on federal policy issues that affect African immigrant communities nationwide and support the development of emerging leaders. AILEF is a peer network, staffed by African Communities Together, but grounded in the strength and power of the network.

Since March 2022, AILEF has held nine monthly meetings via Zoom, supported and built by African Communities Together (ACT). During the monthly AILEF calls, African/Black leaders from across the states share resources and information on federal and local policies of interest to our communities. AILEF membership increased to over 180 members, 112 organizations across 39 states. Seeing this collaborative spirit, it is clear that the AILEF network is critical for building a robust infrastructure for African leaders and institutions to deepen our collective effort in fighting against unjust policies aimed at African immigrants.
