African Communities Together (ACT) seeks an experienced Civic Engagement Director to manage its civic engagement initiatives in Pennsylvania, New York, and DC/MD/VA chapters, including anticipation of expanding our political participation in a 501(c)(4) sister organization. The Civic Engagement Director will be responsible for designing, training, implementing, and managing programs in voter registration, voter education, and Get Out the Vote efforts and leading activities, such as door-to-door canvassing and phone banking, in our chapter locations as needed. This position works collaboratively with ACT’s Chapter Directors and Executive Director to advance our mission, goals, and objectives.

ACT is hiring a temporary Community Navigator to help build ACT’s membership base and provide direct assistance to community members in need of social service programs and public benefits (ex: food stamps, rental assistance, Medicaid) in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. The Community Navigator will work with the State Policy Manager and (DMV) Chapter Director to advance our Chapter goals and objectives. This role is a temporary position ending on July 31st, 2023.
African Communities Together seeks to hire a Development Director to provide effective, dynamic leadership in our fundraising efforts. ACT has offices in New York City, Philadelphia, and the Washington, D.C. metro area. The position can be based in any of these offices, depending on the candidate. This position is hybrid: while much of the work can be completed from home, the position is not fully remote, and will require regular travel to an office and may require occasional travel to other ACT locations.
African Communities Together (ACT) seeks an experienced campaigner and advocate to serve as its Housing Justice Program Director, with responsibility for managing the housing initiatives of its New York, Pennsylvania, and DC/MD/VA chapters. The Housing Director will be responsible for policy advocacy, developing and executing campaign plans, supporting ACT’s organizing and leadership development with African immigrant tenants.
