African Communities Together (ACT) seeks an experienced Civic Engagement Director to manage its civic engagement initiatives in Pennsylvania, New York, and DC/MD/VA chapters, including anticipation of expanding our political participation in a 501(c)(4) sister organization. The Civic Engagement Director will be responsible for designing, training, implementing, and managing programs in voter registration, voter education, and Get Out the Vote efforts and leading activities, such as door- to-door canvassing and phone banking, in our chapter locations as needed. This position works collaboratively with ACT’s Chapter Directors and Executive Director to advance our mission, goals, and objectives.

ACT is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Outreach and Membership organizer to join our organizing team. This position will be crucial in expanding ACT's presence in the DMV region and gaining a deeper understanding of the unique challenges that African immigrants face in the region. The responsibilities of this role include developing and implementing outreach strategies, recruiting new members, working closely with our organizing team to execute grassroots organizing campaigns, and building external partnerships to raise awareness about ACT's mission. This position will be supervised by the DMV Chapter Director and work closely with the National Organizing Director to advance the chapter's objectives and goals. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and extensive experience in organizing immigrant and BIPOC communities.

African Communities Together (ACT) is seeking a committed and seasoned Legal Director with demonstrated experience working with diverse cultural groups to join our legal team. The Legal Director will oversee our New York Chapter's immigration legal program and provide direct immigration legal services to ACT members and African immigrant communities.
This key leadership position will report to the National Legal Director and will be responsible for supervising the legal department's personnel, including 1 paralegal, 1 legal fellow, and volunteers as well as expanding ACT's New York legal program, which includes petitions for immigrant relatives, naturalization, and status adjustment. This position collaborates with the Director of the New York Chapter and ACT's national leadership to advance the Chapter's goals and objectives.
ACT is hiring a New York State Policy Manager to lead ACT’s NY state and local policy advocacy and campaigns. ACT’s current NY state and local priorities include promoting language accessibility for African language speakers; advancing good jobs and seeking to close the “African Wage Gap”; and removing barriers to occupational licensing for African hair braiders. This position will report to the National Policy Director and work closely with the NY organizing team and national policy staff.
